Backstory
Roy was born in the Commons part of Equestria City as an orphan, never even knowing his birth parents. He spent his early years in an orphanage, making friends and doing what he could to survive in a competitive world. Never got much of an education but when Duel Monsters started becoming popular, he was quick to adapt. A fast learner they say. Before long he was dueling against everyone in the orphanage and won every single battle, becoming the best duelist around. It was his encounter with a rich man from the Tops named Fancy Pants that the wheels of his life began to move forward. He challenged Fancy Pants to a duel where if he won, Fancy Pants has no choice but to adopt him. It was a fierce battle, one Roy never experienced before. He knew the rumors of how duelists in the Tops do battle but never like this. By the skin of his teeth, Roy was victorious. Fancy Pants saw that this boy may hold some hidden potential. He adopted Roy immediately thereafter and Roy’s life would never be the same.

Now in a place very unfamiliar, Roy had to adjust his life to living like the rich people do. That and having to get an education was top priority. He was homeschooled but got his tutoring from the best Equestria City had to offer. He toiled through it all, pleasing everyone he met. It wasn’t until he was around 16 that Roy would put all he learned to the test. He was taken to Crystal Prep Academy as a means of continuing his education. Although Roy wasn’t impressed at first, he was more focused on hoping to duel as a means of showing what he can do. Sadly it was shot down due to the school’s No Dueling policy that had been enforced for many years. It never mattered to Roy. Despite his focus in his education, he felt that dueling was a way to show what one’s true power is all about. After two or so years, he competed in the Friendship Games alongside another school, Canterlot High. He made the school proud winning in all events including one that his school wanted no part of, dueling. This got the ire of many within the school including Principal Abacus Cinch.

Roy explained that if Crystal Prep were to be victorious, they needed to excel in everything, including dueling. Cinch was in no mood and demanded that Roy hand her his deck for it would be confiscated. Roy refused saying that giving up his deck would be to give up his dreams. Cinch knew that Roy was a troublemaker and demanded once again that he hand the deck or face suspension. Like before, he refused but not before calling her out on her actions within the school, calling it a place where dreams are made and crushed by her hand. Not wanting to hear anymore, Cinch called security and had him removed. Before they did come in, Roy challenged Cinch to a duel hoping to rid away of the school’s old policies and bring about change. Cinch, hoping to not only set an example to the school and humiliate Roy, accepted his challenge under one condition: If Roy wins, she will abolish the No Dueling rule & allow dueling. However should he lose, he would have to face expulsion from Crystal Prep & humiliation from the entire city. Knowing the risks, he accepted.

Before he would duel Cinch, he bumps into a mysterious young fellow who went to visit Crystal Prep. Without so much as a word, the fellow gave Roy a card: Stardust Spark Dragon and tells him that it would be the key to unleashing his strengths. He didn’t understood what it meant but he added it to his deck. The duel happened at Crystal Prep Auditorium. Everyone was there, students, faculty and even the school board. Cinch announced that someone wishes to challenge the school’s standing troubles and that one will be an example to anyone that defies it. Roy appeared before them. The crowd cheers for he was one of the best at the Friendship Games. No one in the auditorium had any idea that they would be in for a shock. The duel began between the two. Both sides were evenly matched in skill and power. However Roy notices something off about Cinch as she uses cards that he never saw before. They would end up putting him at a disadvantage, almost near the verge of defeat. Cinch was ready to deliver the final strike until Roy called her out, saying that all the cards she has in her deck came from many students that had their decks confiscated. This was a shock to everyone but Cinch didn’t care. She says that expulsion and humiliation are what awaits him. Roy from out of nowhere counters and then strikes back using the Stardust Spark Dragon he received and that helped him win.

Despite his victory, Cinch calls out on Roy saying that he cheated but he counters that she cheated too with a deck full of confiscated cards. Before long everyone in the school was pissed due to Cinch’s actions. Roy demanded that the No Dueling policy be abolished but not before taking away her deck and saying that on this day, “Let our school duel!” Everyone cheered but Cinch would have the last laugh as she says that Roy is expelled. Unfortunately the last laugh would come to the school board who nullified the expulsion almost immediately. Roy won not only the duel but also the respect of the entire school, faculty and all. His victory was spread all throughout the Tops, seeing him as someone who had the virtue of being a winner. Roy felt however that Crystal Prep would not be the place where he hopes to make change happen and at the request of the school board asked to be transferred to Canterlot High. They accepted but not before the school wished him a farewell suitable for someone like him. One part of his journey ended but another was about to begin.

When Fancy Pants found out, he was upset but knew that Roy did what was needed to help bring about change. If bringing change meant that he had to be stronger, he would do it. It did upset Fancy Pants but Roy had a determination that is as strong as the sun. Knowing that Canterlot High may be an opportunity for him, he allowed Roy to attend Canterlot High. When Roy did arrive, he would expect anything but a nice welcome. Many students within the school knew of his exploits at Crystal Prep. Roy prepared for the worst. Thankfully the faculty there was able to help him adjust to this place. That made him happy. After several days, he got used to being in Canterlot High, having made new friends and also garnered a reputation as one of the school’s top duelists representing the Synchro Division. He may have made a name for himself but he hopes to achieve so much more. His journey to be the best has only just begun.

Yep. High time I did this and it's all part of something I am heavily working on. I plan on doing a series set in a universe where Equestria Games and Yu-Gi-Oh! collide, forming something new. This is the starting point and yep, it involves this fellow: Roy Starfall.

Roy Starfall is one of Rob Stallion's dimensional counterparts (whereas Robert Light is the original that allows the others to exist) who lives in the fictional, near futuristic world of Equestria City. In that world, Duel Monsters has become exceedingly popular, taking the world by storm and ushering in an age of duelists. This fellow is one such duelist but in a world where survival of the fittest is everything, he's willing to do what he can to make it to the top and achieve his dreams. He's got friends, he's got a deck and he's ready to kick butt on the battlefield.

So yeah, enjoy this bio as I have plans on making a series centering around him. Rob Stallion's getting a break. Now begins Roy Starfall.
