Sorry if it’s a late review but let’s just say that time is seriously not on my side. Let’s get this review underway.

Ponies from all of Equestria are gathering at Canterlot Castle for the Grand Equestria Pony Summit. Having spent 3 straight days organizing it, Twilight becomes too exhausted and needs to rest. So Cadance decides to put Spike in charge in the hopes that she wouldn’t be disturbed. This becomes a problem as some delegates are in need of her aid. So to ensure that things go smoothly, Spike decides to take care of things at Twilight’s request. But will this be good or will it prove to be problematic?

To be honest, I know that Spike-centric episodes aren’t the best ones. This one is probably in the lines of meh. I did enjoy it but it wasn’t that great.

Let me get the positives out of the way and there are only a few. Twilight being one of them and one of the scenes has her sleeping on top of some books. It’s the cutest thing I ever saw and it equals to Pancake Twi. I’m pretty serious. It’s just cute. I also like that we get to see some new ponies in the episode. Not to mention many have speaking roles. Helps add more to this episode as well as the world that shape it. There are some funny moments with Spike and they’re pretty well done. But I feel at the same time, it makes me feel bad for him. It really does but hey, it’s all right.

But for where there are positives, there are negatives. For starters, Spike going through a lot of hardship. Episodes like these make me feel bad for him. It doesn’t help that he’s poorly treated to boot. I mean come on, he’s an assistant to Princess Twilight. He has his own seat in the castle for crying out loud. Yet he ends up getting the short end of the stick. It’s disappointing. It really is. But hey, it’s not his fault that some of this has happened. All he was ordered to do was make sure Twilight wasn’t disturbed. But no, many of the delegates needed Princess Twi’s aid. But did they ever respect her privacy? Nope. They take it out on Spike, which just sucks. If only they would listen to reason and respected Twilight, then there’s be no reason for all of it. But I’m just giving it the benefit of the doubt.

I can honestly say that the ending made up for most of the episode. It really did because I didn’t like how he was treated and this was their way of saying sorry. I wish it could have been done a bit better but hey it works. It’s also good to see Cadance again. That’s also a needed plus. Oh and I like the lesson here as it is that you shouldn’t let stuff like power and authority get to you. A pretty good moral, I tell you that.

Now you’re wondering what my final score for this episode is. Well remember, this is all opinionated so feel free to disagree. Final score for Princess Spike is… a 6 out of 10. I’m sorry but this is one of the weaker episodes. It’s filler. It’s not the best Spike episode as there are worse ones but it has some funny moments. The lesson here is a good one though I wish it could have been executed better. Hell I wish the writing for the episode was better because it lacked… a lot.

That’s it for this review. Apologies if it was late. Next time, an important friendship summit ends in disaster and there’s only one pony and her party skills that must save the day. Let’s hope there’s plenty to go around because I ain’t Party Pooped. No way.

Toodles.

I couldn't agree with you more, my friend. Why do writers have so many problems when doing a Spike episode? At this rate, he's becoming the Alpha 5 of the show, but hell, even Alpha 5 had his many moments of awesome. But Spike... Outside of saving the Crystal Empire, the Power Ponies episode and freeing Rarity from that spell book, he really hasn't given anything awesome to do, and this episode continues that trend. Somebody please give him a good episode for once, he needs it.

Also, why did they turn Fancy Pants into a jerk? Last time I check, he was pretty friendly towards the common folk, he didn't go after them when things went horribly wrong. He's better than this.

Although to be fair, I did enjoy one of the new ponies that was at the Grand Equestria Pony Summit. You're probably thinking about the Fargo Pony or the Joe Pesci Pony or even the Fresh Prince of Bel Air Pony yes... Nope, it's not any of those three. Rather, it's this pony. img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20…

What can I say, she looks pretty hot, especially with that puffy hair.
